Sinks and Sink Faucets

There is a tremendous variety in sinks and faucets. They are available in numerous shapes, colors and features. As you wade through the possibilities, keep in mind the requirements of your bathroom, including durability, performance, and easy maintenance. Fortunately, there are so many great looking, hard-working fixtures and fittings available that you will not have to sacrifice glamour for practicality.

Bathroom sinks or lavatories have changed more dramatically in recent years than any other bathroom design element, taking on new and intriguing shapes, vivid colors, and unconventional materials. White, bone and black are still big sellers, but if you want to get adventurous, there are plenty of alternatives.

Bathroom drop-in sink    The most common vanity sinks are drop-in sinks. A sef-rimming sink can be used with almost any type of bathroom counter top material, and it can be replaced without moving the countertop or pipes.

Bathroom undermount sink    An undermount sink also is part of a vanity. It sits below the countertop and it's easier to clean.

Bathroom integral sinkWhen a sink is part of the countertop material, it is called an integral sink. It is molded form the same material as the counter.

A vessel sink is a bowl mounted on top of the countertop. It makes a bold design statement and probably is best reserved for an elegant powder room that doesn't get heavy traffic. It is common to see wall-mounted fixtures with a vessel sink.
